The collection contains 618 photographs depicting early history of Croatian Radio Television (Radio-television Zagreb). It depicts presenters, singers, actors, scenes from the recording of drama and entertainment programs. Then some photographs from the festivals of popular melodies "Zagreb 1960" and photographs from the exhibition "Our Zagreb" by Đuro Slako.
Đuro Slako was born in 1929 in Zagreb. He completed his primary education and School of Graphics (photo department) in Zagreb. He passed his mastership certificate in photography in 1958. His eventful professional path began in 1956 when he was employed as a photojournalist at Television Zagreb, which began its operation at that time. He also became a member of the Croatian Journalists Association evolving into a top chronicler of the times, contributing to numerous TV shows with his photo features. From 1958, when he enrolled in the Zagreb Photography Club, he particularly devoted himself to artistic photography. Based on this, in 1963 he became, while still working on television, a member of the Croatian Association of Artists of the Applied Arts (Croatian: Udruženje likovnih umjetnika primijenjene umjetnosti Hrvatske (ULUPUH)). Developing an increasingly personal style of artistic photography, which was always his true preoccupation, Slako left the Television to join the company FOTOTEHNIKA, which later merged with the company VELEBIT (GRAFOTISAK), where he worked until his retirement. The range of motifs of his photographs is very wide, including portrait studies, genre-scenes, ballet, sports, architecture.
